ok, the other day it snowed for the 1st time in 3 years i went in my car turned on My stereo and my amp fuse blew for the 1st time, i don't know if the cold weather could have done it but, then i put lower amp ones in there and they blew on the 1st note of the subs, (the fuse from the battery to the amp) and i smelled something burning and saw smoke so i opened the amp and there was a burnt resistor, what causes this and can i replace it, i cant read the color band, its to burnt but i get a reading on the resistor with an ohmmeter. the amp still works and im guessing its because the resistor isn't completely messed up HELP!!

What causes the resistor to burn up?
is it still good to use?
