Yes Emma it did. I see that this i mostly found in women after reading the replies.

I changed my diet up some. Or at least try to. I go for alkaline fooRAB and stay away from the acidic ones.

I also cut out wine and beer and if i have a drink it is something light like vodka. When i follow this type of diet i notice that the symptoms go away.

I did this for a couple months straight and began introducing the acidic fooRAB i love so much back into my diet. So far so good. However if I splurge on tomatoes or red meat, some symptoms do come back.

I also found that daily exercise (burning 100-200 cal) can lower the bodies acidity levels. A good sweat also takes your mind off of the symptoms.

Of course everyone is different and sometimes I wonder if its just me getting so used to it that i don't notice it... But who cares as long as you don't feel it and let it run your life right!!??

I hope this helps. And hang in there!

PLEASE READ MY STORY.

I found a message posted in 2005 about a burning tongue and throat.

Did you ever find a cure for this?? Do you still have it??

I feel totally lost. Not my family, frienRAB, or doctors have heard of this. I've had a burning throat constantly day and night for the last 3 months. And it's driving me INSANE!! Sometimes even my lips do. Here's what I've tried.

Acid Reducers: Nexium, Protonix
Diet: Alkaline diet, no beer or wine
Endoscopy: clear
I even went as far as having my silver fillings replaced with white by my dentist, thinking it might be the silver or mercury in fillings that was causing the burning.

No help from anything. I'm being led to believe that this may not be an acid problem as many are staking it to be. I've never had heartburn in my life, and the burning is in my throat and mouth, not esophagus. Also, i'm a lover of spicy fooRAB, and i've noticed that they do not make the situation worse. If anything its better because of the capsisum in pepper seeRAB, and I'm temporarily relieved of the constant burn.

I've been researching online however and found something that may be related to it. Have you researched BRUXISM yet? I read articles suggesting that the clenching or grinding of teeth can cause nerve damage in the face, mouth, throat, and even ear.

I stopped to think about it. Later that day i found my self in a stressful situation and realized that I was clenching my teeth. I then started to wonder how often I did this. That's when I noticed that i did it so much, i didn't even know i was doing it. And it's not a grinding, but a simple pressing of the teeth against eachother.

Today is my first day to attempt to not bite down, or clench my teeth, and it's VERY hard not to. I find myself reading something or listening to someone, and there go the teeth.

DO YOU DO THIS?? DOES ANYONE???

I figure since i've tried everything else, breaking this habbit is my last resort. If anything, it couldn't hurt.

OMG - it's nice to know that there are others out there suffering from BMS. I have had it since last April and nothing I have done makes a difference. No doctors or dentists can find a cause. What about the teeth clenching I have a feeling that that has a connection I'm going on the LPR theory now, but not sure that's what it is. Read a good book regarding acid reflux and sinuses. I was drinking quite a bit of wine before this set in and now I can't drink that, eat anything acidic especially citrus (which is hard as we have a lime, grapefruit and orange tree in the yard) HELP...any relief you have found I would love to hear about. Here's my tip for relief...I bought a tooth guard at the drug store and it stops the burning when I wear it.

Sorry, no real answer for you but wanted you to know you are not alone. I've had this symptom along with the other 5 hundred and fifty.

i get this but its been bacally gone the last few weeks..

i brush my teeth wiht my normal toothpaste with added bakingsoda to nutralise acid and i rotate grains, ie i dont have grains for breaky just friut, yog flax oil etc, if i have bread or crackers for lunch i dont have high carbs like potatos for tea, if i dont have grains rice etc for lunch then i have them for dinner..........it works for me.............i have tried totally low carb, but didnt work for my reflux and as you have to eat high protein like meat its not good for me as i hate meat, except for the occasional chicken or bacon...

Hi RLJoneson,

I have the same problem as you. I've had GERD for a long time, but in the last few months on and off I've had a burning throat that wasn't associated with reflux. It's a warm sensation and I've also gotten it on my tongue and on the roof of my mouth. I have dry mouth from medications I take so this might be part of the problem. I've been researching and I'm thinking it might be burning mouth syndrome. It's so annoying and I wish I could find something to make it stop. I'm glad I found someone else with this same problem.

Yep, had all the B's checked along with everything else the doctors feel causes this condition. I really need help with this. Has anyone found relief and if so, how ?

Hi,
Did your burning tongue ever get better? If so, what did you do? I am desperate for hope to ever get over this myself. I sometimes feel like my life as I knew it is over. I have suffered since 2007. I have spent a lot of money going to different doctors and dentists. I just hope to not have tongue pain everyday of my life.
thanks,
Emma
