I realize this is a back problem message board but I found no shoulder problem board. I bought a motorcycle a little over two years ago. The handlebars on the bike are not back quite far enough for me to reach comfortably. I didn't think much about it until I went on a long trip on the bike. I drove it 6 hours to the mountains, rode around all the next day and then 6 hours back home on the third day. I realized while driving that I kept trying to reposition my left arm to relieve shoulder strain. Ever since then, I have had a burning sensation in the top of my shoulder. It seems to occur when I am sitting in the same position for a not-too-long-a period of time like when I'm at the computer. Often times, I have to get up and give it a rest. I can press my shoulder back and feel a popping almost like it is going back to it's normal position. It's not really pain but more a discomfort. I feel the burning going from the top of my shoulder and up my neck. When I tilt my head to the right, it feels like the neck muscles on the left side are tight and I don't seem to have as much range of movement on that side versus the right side. I am constantly stretching but the stiffness always sneaks back. Any ideas from anyone?
