burning hands

For the past 2 days I have had substantial burning in my hands. I first noticed it after chopping jalepenos. I thought at first maybe that was the problem but even after washing many times, it just kept getting worse. The areas of my hands affected turned red. It later felt better but then started again. It has been this way for both days. It burns very bad then goes away. What could this be?

Sounds like you are extremely sensitive to jalepenos. I agree with kris about the cortisone, but use sparingly. Next time, wear some food-handler's gloves! Hot peppers can be extremely irritating to some people.
