burning an image into my skin?

Don't do it. I thought I wanted a star burned into my arm when I was 13. I figured the scar would fade in a couple years. It's been 9 years, it hasn't faded at all. My senior year of high school, someone noticed it and I was put on suicide watch for "self mutilation". It's not worth it. Even now, I feel like I have to hide it because people will think I intentionally injure myself. Plus, frost bite sucks.

i already know that ice and salt on skin leaves frostbite. I've done it before to test it just like everyone else and ended up with a scar. I want to have an image of a heart on my arm. so i thought of how to burn it since that will eventually go away. then i thought of causing frostbite in the shape of a heart. i tried that a couple hours ago and it worked but not as well as i wanted it to. i'm going to try it again tomorrow once the skin has been given some time to do whatever it needs to do. i'm wondering if there are any easier ways to burn the image of a heart into my skin, and if not, how i can more effectively use the ice and salt method. i rele don't want to take a flat iron to my arm if i can use ice instead. answers are appreciated. and btw, i know itll hurt, i just don't care. i'm not stupid, i just want a heart on my arm thatll be gone in a year.

it wont be gone in a year. i etched a heart into my foot in 7th grade. im in 12th grade now and still have it. boy friend burned a cross and a heart into his arm in 9th grade and still has it at 19. dont do it. he hates showing his arms and is very embarrassed by it. you'll definitely regret it

Burn scars DO NOT go away, typically those are some of the worst scars you can get. Also, frost bite scarring doesn't go away either. If a wound is there for a year, more than likely it's going to be there forever. You can't cause that kind of damage without permanent scarring.

Scarification is difficult for even professionals with years of training to do correctly and the results are NEVER guaranteed. I HIGHLY suggest you stop now before you get some nasty looking thing permanently scarred on your arm, especially in such a visible place. Wait a few years til you can go to a professional and IF you still want it, get it done right.
