Burned!

Gah, how many of you have had a moment in your life when you're pulling something out of the oven with one of those square oven "mits" and the freaking thing moves out of the way so you end up grabbing the hot metal rack with your hand? Because I totally pulled that tonight and even though it only got my thumb, it hurts like a mother.
It's funny, though, because that saying, "You never know what you have until it's gone" or whatnot is completely true. You never realize how much you use your left thumb until you hurt it. Unbuttoning things with one hand sucks.

my dad burned his fingers at work. He was dipping a part of a machine into hot wax or something like that and accidentally dipped 3 of his fingeres in. Then yesterday he sliced his hand open with a steak knife... hes a pain magnet.

Spent the past 7 years of my life cooking for the Navy.... I think I have been burned by damn near everything that gets hot in a kitchen...

My least favorite was a hot steam line that burnt a 1/4 inch deep divot in my wrist... Or the time I put my whole arm in a sanitizing sink (180 degrees fahrenheit. 82 degrees celsius.)

 That's horrible!

But yeah, why are the tiniest things so painful? Nothing kills more than stubbing a toe, papercuts, and BURNS.

Unless of course you get fully engulfed in fire. That would suck.

I dunno, splinters are possibly the most annoying for me. I get them all the time, then I spend an entire day nit-picking the little buggers out of my finger.

my knee has been swollen for a long time now... and constaltly pops and when i bend my knees, I here a LOT of crack, snapple, and pops. more than usual, sounds like bone fragments...

time to go see a doctor. you might have torn the cartilage. if you have, there's no way for it to heal on it's own. They've got to go in and tack it back down or remove the torn fragment. Luckily it's a simple surgery.

I hate burns. When I was younger I had 3rd degree burns all over the palms of both of my hands. I couldn't sleep for a week because it was so painful. I couldn't do anything for myself and mom made me quit swimming lessons until I healed up. I still have a scar on my right wrist from a blister that popped. I seriously hate burns, and they happen so often. Gah!

I got a blister all over the side of my thumb once. I had to keep an ice pack or some ice water nearby to cool it off with because the burning sensation would get so intense. Made one hell of a mess when it finally popped too.

Then one summer I got a sunburn so bad that I couldn't even wear a shirt over it. It also seems to have permanently fucked up the skin on my back.

I had a kid that worked for me dump hot oatmeal on his hand....
It was like a gallon or so of almost boiling hot oatmeal....
It was one of the worst burns I have witnessed.

My little brother leaned on a stovetop, but didn't know it was on. Had to take him to the hospital and everything.
But he's a total klutz, he can't find anything. He couldn't find an STD in a whore.

As for myself, I get burned from steam, from like, the pressure cooker and shit. Hurts like hell.
