Burn After Reading

The problem with that is it's a busman's holiday. They are supposed to be their to make a movie not have a laugh with their mates. See Oceans 12 for the results.

Well, I am probably one of the few but I actually like all 3 of the Oceans films. Admittedly 12 is the weakest but one of the things that makes me like them so much is the Clooney/Pitt interaction.

I want to see it solely because of the clooney/pitt interaction. They're so funny together. I love the interviews that are on youtube!

.

I totally agree. I think the reason 12 was so weak was because it focused on the Rusty/Isabel storyline too much.

What a disappointing film!
'No country for old men' was written at the same time as this (apparently) but it's in a totally different class. The Coens must have written 'Burn after reading' at the end of the day when they were tired.

It was like two films stuck together. The first hour was interminably boring, then when
Brad Pitt was shot
it was a different pace and improved no end.

Overall the film was like an old fashioned British bedroom farce with everyone sleeping with each other, people being in the wrong place at the wrong time, misunderstandings and no real substance.

The best scene in the whole film was
Brad Pitt getting shot!
3/10 :(

I was a little disappointed too as the trailer made the film look better than it was.

One woman sat behind me enjoyed it though, she was pissing herself at everything.....

I am not a coen brothers fan but really liked this as well as no country for old men. Burn took a while to get going but once it did it was great, the trailer did ruin some of it though:(

but brad pitt getting shot WOW!!!!!!

the showing I went to was packed as well. Nice I have forgiven coen broters for the very dire intolerable cruelty

I was disappointed in this, but then I expected it from being a Coen Brothers film, I just find them so overated tbh. The trailer looked quite good, but I didn't think it reflected the film really. It was a bit of a mish mash of stories and it was all a bit unexplained. I come out of the cinema wondering what it was I just watched.

There were a couple of good bits, mainly the spoilers above and also the love chair got a laugh.

A very dry film even by Coens standarRAB...

And with another vague, abrupt ending

But it has its moments - Pitt, Clooney and Mcdormand are especially good.

i didnt like it.

it was another of those films that put all the funny scenes in the trailer to make it look good. only good thing was brad pitt.

oh but i wouldnt mind a go on clooneys chair :o

Went to see this last night and felt that up to the point when

Brad Pitt gets shot

it was good, but after that, it kinda went downhill a bit and nothing seemed to make much sense! It was sort of like they couldn't be bothered to do any more to it so just wrote some random storyline that I felt had no substance to it!! Plus the ending, WTF!!!! Was left a bit disappointed when it finished - more of an Oh, thats it? lol

I have to say though that I thought Brad Pitt was rather funny lol

There were people like that when I saw it!! I did laugh, don't get me wrong - but when people were in hysterics, I was a bit like "what am I missing??!!"!!

Saw this the other day and i quite enjoyed! Bit of a madcap caper comedy. You'd never have known it was made by the same guys behind No Country for Old Men.

Wasn't laugh out loud funny but there was some great comedy in it.

Brad Pitt in particular was funny
it was a shock when he was shot and killed - didn't expect it.
Also loved whenever JK Simmons appeared on the screen.
The ending with him was hilarious!
