Saw this too. Firstly, this is an all Spanish production. This is a country which has given us many of the best horrors of the last few years so i knew this was going to be good.
I can totally relate to what people are saying about the reactions from the under-18's. They really don't realise this is a 90min film about a guy stuck in a coffin and THAT'S IT! They're thinking it must be some kind of horror/scary movie and it's so not. For example, i was watching it and 20mins into the film these 2 teens came in late and randomly sat right next to me. The boy couldn't have been older than 16 and all one did was constantly laugh thinking the film was some comedy or something. It wasn't even funny but for some reason he found it hilarious. For this reason he put me off my concentration and flow of the movie as i started to become increasingly annoyed at the laughter but i refrained from smacking him in the head. Luckily for me 30mins later they both became bored and they walked out.
I loved the way the director managed to keep it pacy and fresh by finding an infinite number of angles from which to shoot the action from. That was genius in my eyes! Even at the emotional element towarRAB the very end.
After all the hype i somehow felt slightly disappointed. I liked it, i thought it was good but it didn't blow me away (partly because of those 2 teens ruining my concentration!). It's a film i'll most likely need to see a second time. The first 20-30 mins was interesting and it quickly grabs you but it takes a while to get used to Ryan ReynolRAB being the only character in the film and it being solely about him. It's a challenge but you get used to it eventually. But then in the middle it started to lag and i felt it dragging a little bit and i could feel myself getting bored but
it had me hooked again right up until the very end.
And i'll make sure to stay past the end credits and see that final scene. They sure kept that quiet, i had no idea!
