Bumps all over tounge!

Okay a few weeks ago, I started getting these bumps all over my tounge. They were tiny and painful. The ones at the tip felt like I had burned my mouth very badly, but I did'nt. I then started developing white bumps closer to the back of my tounge. I could not eat, because any time I had something it would hurt my tounge so badly, escp anything with salt.
I went to the doctor and she said it was just a viral infection of some kind and perscribed me this ridiculous stuff called Magic Mouth wash which basically was just to numb it.
So then I found out I should swish with water and hydrogen peroxide...I did that for a week and it started clearing up some. But I had this all in all for about 2 weeks. It went away for a week but just the other day I developed another bump at the end of my tounge. I am just cluless and I have never had anything like this in my life. If anyone may have an idea of what it could be, please let me know.
Also, my bf asked his dad who is a Dr. and he said it was Stomatitis. But since it's back so soon..I really wonder.

Stomatitis isn't a diagnosis, it's barely even a symptom, it just means "mouth inflammation".

Magic Mouthwash is another vague term, a concotion that could contain any number of things. Nystatin(anti-fungal), diphenhydramine(Benadryl), lidocaine(anesthetic) and any number of other 'potions'. Depends on the pharmacist.

My guess would be you have transient lingual papillitis, known here in the South as "lie bumps".;) It's swollen taste buds. It's annoying and even painful but otherwise harmless.

Well...that's exactly what the magic mouth wash is..nystatin and lidocaine. If it is lingual papillitis, how do you even get that? It sure does sound like that what it may be. Today my tounge is better, but its different every other day it seems!

try saline mouth rinses. (salt water rinse. ) it's cheap, AND you can make it yourself with table salt & tap water (perhaps a teaspoonful in a glass of water / mix). It works great for a sore throat so I imagine it'd work also for tongue sores.

I've had tongue sores on and off for years. I've noticed they get worse and better with hormone fluctuations. My doctor recommended I take L-Lysine, which is something you can buy anywhere in the vitamin department. It helped a lot! I've also noticed that chocolate makes my tongue become inflamed as do acidic foods such as pineapples, tomatoes, citrus fruits. Do a search on the L-Lysine and see what you think. Be sure it doesn't interact with any other medicines you're taking. Ask your pharmacist. Good luck and feel better!
