I have a bulging disc L5 - S1 I have been in pain for the last 5 weeks. Now pain into but, and back of leg, nurabness into leg and foot, and difficulty with bladder control. Newest symptom is nurabness into left arm. I had a neck injury which has sparked the disc problem. Could the arm nurabness be associated with the disc?:

Have they done a MRI of your cervical spine? Arm nurabness seems to indicate the neck causing nerve damage. Make sure they check this out. I let it go nearly a year when the Doc thought all I had was lower back disc problems. Turned out I had spinal cord compression at C7-T1, requiring surgery which stabilized things. Don't let this go too long. Best to you.

Does your doctor know that you are having difficulty controlling your bladder? That can be a sign of a very serious problem. It would need immediate attention so you don't end up with permanent nerve damage.

With pain going all the way down to your foot I would be worried... and the bladder control issue is a sign of a serious problem. I would get in to a neuro fast. The longer you have these symptoms the more likely they aren't fixable.

I would also suggest going to a neuro because of the bladder issues - when i had my back trouble that a question that everyone asked. When I asked why they were asking me that question, they said that loss of bladder control meant sever nerve impingement which might escalate things.
