building/cannabalising old computer?

right.
at the moment i just want to take about an old computer and put it back togetther then slowly get better and like make my own.
but the thing i'm caught on is the static.
i cannot purchase a anti static bracelet so i was wondering how i could reduce the static and which clothing material would be best for keeping static down?
 
if you keep ONE part of your skin touching SOME part of metal on the case the entire time youll be fine
just got to keep yourself grounded
 
Just avoid wearing cotton/wool material as they retain static easily.

May I suggest that before you start taking off the parts, run both your hands through the power supply (after you've turned off the main outlet ONLY) so as to discharge whatever static you've built up.

Once you are through that the first time, you don't have to do it anymore.
