I"m currently in the process of buying parts for a new PC, and i'm quite a novice at this. I'm looking into my CPU and motherboard. I want to get a ver high end core-quad processor from AMD, like the phenom. The problem i'm running into is that it's an AM2+ socket, and so far I have yet to see a motherboard that lists AM2(+). Only AM2. Is this an issue? Also upon reading up on making components work with one another, I know that the FSB of the CPU RAM and Motherboard must match for optimum efficiency. The processor's specifications list 3600 Mhz Hyper Transports, where on the motherboard the highest i've seen is 1000mhz Hyper Transports (2000 MT/s). Lastly, what exactly is the top end models of CPU's and motherboards currently for setting up an AMD machine, i'm very lost when trying to find out this information.

Try contacting http://www.hltechnology.com/ .

My husband is a comp tech and buys most of his parts here.

Great prices, fast shipping and you get what you pay for.

DONT GET AMD QUAD CORE--EVEN AMD ADDMITTED IT HAS BEGGS AND IT IS A FLOP

also u can use an am2 motherboard but you will not get optimal performance

i would seriously recomend a inter core 2 quad ( 16600 2.4ghz is only about 144 pounds

and the best 775 motherboard that is not over 100 pounds/200dollars is a ga-p35-ds3p it is such a great motherboard i overclocked my quad core 2.3ghz to 3.6ghz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You definitely need the "+" socket for a phenom processor.
Newegg.com has a few.
Here is an excellent web site that will help with your selection of parts... Have fun, enjoy ...
