Buick transmission problems, can i save?

First off, i realize that a popular answer to my question will be "ur screwed" but i have to try....I have an automatic 1991 Buick Regal Limited, 3.8L, as little as a week ago it was running very sound, maybe a hard shift from 3rd to 4th every now and then, but seemed perfect besides that, in the past 4 days though it gradually stopped shifting into reverse (stopped completely shifting into it from P, can still get it to shift into R from drive maybe as low as 3% of the time now with as much as I've tried it) and in the last two days stopped shifting into drive (maybe a 10% success rate if i shift it all the way down to low) Any solutions other than a new tranny?
 
You can try changing the filter in the trainee, but that may not wrong I would say look in junk yards for a good transmission if you don't want to spend a lot of money.
