How To Run 10's

Guest
I heard that they have decent potential and i would love to know because im in the market for a sleeper and have heard the 3800 supercharged is a great motor to work on is there any rwd or 2 doors that use the 3800 supercharged

Are buick regal gs fwd or rwd auto or standard? thanks guys

yes they are good cars to work with and u can get some good power but it depends on how much money u put in to it

The newer Buick Regal GS is not considered a performance car in any way shape or form.

The 3.8 supercharged motor is a great engine and was the basis for the last great Buick muscle car, the Grand National (although the GN was turbocharged, not supercharged).

The supercharged 3800 engine can be found in some Pontiacs ( more of a performance brand) and the Buick V6 block is one of the most popular and most widely used in GM history. It is identical to the 350 CU IN small block V8 with two less cylinders. It would make a great starting pointo for modifications. But I'd look for a Grand Prix, Monte Carlo, Impala or even a Camaro or Firebird to put it in, not the four door Regal.

If you want a real Buick sleeper look for a 1986 Regal T-Type. It is the exact same car as the Grand National (fasted American production car of it's time) but it came in colors other than black (GNs only came in black). The only way you'd know it had the turbo and intercooled V6 under the hood was the slight bubble in the hood.

The Regal GS was made form 97-04. It's fwd only and it made 240 hp stock. The 3800 series V6 was just recalled for valve cover gasket leaks - fire hazard. Yes the Regal GS is a sleeper. My bro has a 98 & he replaced the pulley to the blower with a smaller ratio so it would spool up faster. It will burn up the tires even with traction control on. There is a web site http://www.regalgs.org/forum/ Plenty of info there. My bro told me about a guy who built one up at great expense to do 8 sec on the qtr mile. And they are all 4 doors & auto trans. There is a Pontiac Grand Prix w/ the same motor. Also the Riviera in the 90's has that engine & the some Park Avenues (Ultra) had them too. But yeah, lots of huge potential & tons of mods out there.
