First, let me tell you about my tank...
I have a 55 gallon fresh water, low PH, yada, yada.
I have over 20 platty fry in a net box in the corner of the tank.
My mother plattys are suffering from fungus, which I am treating.
I doubt any of this has anything to do with the bugs though......
Last night when I was feeding my fish, I noticed 2 bugs INSIDE the baby net. They were above the surface of the water stuck on the net. They were white/clear, with black heads when they stretched out. They each were no longer than a few millimeters long, and about the width of a hair.
I am freaking out!!! If there's 2, there's possibly more!!!
WHAT ARE THESE??????
Could it possibly be mosquito larve? That's the only kind of bug I can think of that would lay eggs inside the net, safe from bigger fish. And it is stiller on that side of the tank, where the babies are.
Could it be parasites?? If that's the case, my fry are severely at risk, since they were in the net. I've never dealt with parasites. the worst my tank ever gets is fungus...
