I've read Anthem, The Foutainhead, and Atlas Shrugged. I started one of her other novels but never got around to finishing it. I should give it another read through since it was based on herself.
Her books are definiteley worth reading. I say that even though I don't like Ayn Rand. She smoked for years and made her fans think that no harm would come to them because of it and then when she got lung cancer she didn't recant. She cheated on her husband with a guy that saw her as his mentor (he wrote a really good book about it) and tried to act as if her husband and Nathaniel's wife should just accept it and got pissed when Nathaniel didn't want to have sex with her anymore because she was gettting old (he was way younger than her). She could be incredibly rude to her fans if they did not share her philosophy or were not able to debate with her using intelligent enough worRAB.
I do love that she had an anti-communist stance and believed in everybody being the best that they can and that society shouldn't bend over backwarRAB for the poor simply for the fact that they don't have money. You don't know what kind of person someone is because they are broke. It doesn't make them good people and they are not deserving of a wealthy person's money. They should be happy and grateful when a wealthy person is willing to give them some of their hard-earned cash. I do think she took that stance too far because she had to survive Communist Russia.
