Buffet style Wedding reception ...?

As long as the paper/plastic wear that you get is sturdy enough not to bend in people's hands or break with the utensils being used on it or leak/drip when wet (think salad dressing) then you'll be fine.

They do have plastic plates that look like china and plastic utensils that look like silverware. I use it for when we have a huge meal at Christmas and I buy it at BJ's but I know you can find it online, too. Just do a Google search for "plastic china." And, yes, this will be more expensive but it may be more of the "classy" look and feel you're going for.

Good luck!

We are having a simple wedding reception, but still want it to be somewhat classy. Its going to be held at a local Mason we rented. Money is tight and we are catering the reception ourselves, with the help of family. I have no problem using a hard plastic and easily having everyone throw it all out when done. Our guest list is about 90 - 95 people. Is this too cheap?? We just cant really afford to have fancy sit down and expensive china, having to wash it and all that. Any Ideas would be so great thanks.

I think it sounds fine.
Go to Costco or BJ's for sturdy plates & plasticware and you'll be fine. You just don't want the cheap crummy stuff that is flimsy and might have people getting messy in their nice clothes.

This is YOUR day. Nobody is going to say, "I can't believe they had throw away plates". Plus if you have hard plastic it is even better. Tons of people have buffet style. I wouldn't worry about it. You can make up for it with DIY decorations that look awesome. Have fun and enjoy planning. Plus with under 100 people they are most likely close friends and family, and will understand. It won't look cheap at all.
