Buffet Etiquette?????

I was wondering if when you go to an all you can eat buffet, is it really that bad to bring your own "to go" container especially if its an expensive one and the food is really good and plentiful?

What about bringing your own syrup if they don't have the kind you eat?

An all you can eat buffet is all you can eat while you are in the restaurant. They would have the right to tell you to leave if you start loading up your own to-go containers and will not give you one if you ask. You could bring your own syrup if they don't have one you like but not your own drink or dessert.

What I do at this sort of expensive buffet is to eat the things I love to eat most so I don't fill up on stuff I can eat other places. You go to a buffet because you like the range of food offered and not to eat enough to make it worth your while.

Most buffets in my area - will not allow "to go" containers .. in fact, "to go" orders are charged by the pound.

I don't think bringing your own syrup is the best etiquette .. but if it's what you want to do -- and the restaurant allows it -- go for it.
