BT politics general thread. Oh, the drama

This thread isn't helping TiT members who want to follow news about the site, or get some help.
Therefore I'm splitting this thread in two discussions, one for TiT and another for serb and revolt.
 
Well, from what I can see neither MuddSlinger, nor BlastGT1 had anything to gain personally from what they did, and in fact had a LOT to lose. I've known both of them for some time now, and I can say with certainty that neither of them had any kind of selfish motive for posting the info they did.

They're part of a dying breed who temper their actions to try to benefit the "community", rather than just for personal gain as so many others do nowadays. It's interesting to see how their actions are received, and so unappreciated by so many. IMO, it's just another sad indication of the direction private torrenting is headed.

As for the digs at FST, I think those are understandable. You are one of the most prominent BT forums, yet you condone a lot of behavior that is detrimental to the overall health of the BT Community. That said, I think a lot of people, myself included, are beginning to come to the realization that this forum is a much more accurate representation of the REAL BT Community than the charade which is played at so many other BT forums, including the one from where the info for this thread originally came.

You are missing the whole point here.

...A building is a symbol, as is the act of destroying it. Symbols are given power by people. A symbol, in and of itself is powerless, but with enough people behind it, blowing up a building can change the world. What usually happens when people without guns stand up to people *with* guns. I am just your typical nobody simple user. No name, no rank, thats why they can verbally attack me, they can wipe me out, they can globally ban me at any time that they want. I am not the system itself but when you think about it they do not own me because I have power to resist.

I want *everyone* to *remember*, why they *need* us!

Trading is a lovely world because people created it and gave power in it. Fst has a trading section. Nothing illegal here. I cant speculate but If you look hard enough every top tracker to a little trackers full with traders, sellers and people that only use the tracker. Its life in general, a combo of everything when you say NO to one part than you only get some of their attention nothing more. You can not shout like dont do it (equals to global ban) because you can never know whats going on. Banning me here or there never helps the system and that attacking dogs that ban some of us bites their own bosses at the end because some of us like a hard rock. My Experience says every tracker every single one of them has all kind of people at their top. I didnt invent trading its a way of life I am just using it and some tracker bosses will get very angry to traders because they dont want a clean system they want to stop me and do whatever I do by themselves (thats where your Rousseau quote comes handy.)

Let me set one thing straight, revolt does not give out info to anyone, serb is not admin/mod or anything on revolt, and to close my post, leave revolt out of this, before posting anything, make sure you know what you talking about.

I fixed it for you, as I saw fit. I don't think people think that they are doing any wrong by exposing someone's information. It gives them a dick stroke, and they feel like they're getting revenge on people somehow.

The same way, I don't think that people know the consequences of their actions. Were detale's information right, there are legitimate psychos out there waiting for a victim. It's just not right giving them an address, a name, and a potential job description. Those three combined alone could spell trouble if someone were crazy enough to take it to the next step.

It's all fun and games ordering pizza to someone's house once you get their address, but all it takes is one member who isn't mentally stable to take it somewhere everyone regrets. There HAS been incidents of people being convicted for googling what to do after a hit and run, so don't even try and say "but those people don't go on the internet."

However for a while it was/has been.
It actually has gone down and up quite a bit over the last year.
(Never really increasing.)
