Yes Bryan Singer will not direct anymore X-men movies for Fox!

Now i don't want to scare anyone here, but doesn't this sound chillingly similar to what happend to Tim Burton once he finished Batman Returns?

Oh my, lets hope Fox doesn't hire Joel Schumachers to direct the 3rd X-men ! Or someone like him, otherwise you can kiss the X men movies goodbye!

+ Joel Schumachers....*shudders* .....+

Wow this a bit of a surprise and shock to me. I am a huge fan of the X-Men movies. Anybody that decides to direct the 3rd movie needen bother as he/she is never going to match up with the first 2. Jeez Singer why are you doing this to us?

Soo very sad

He's had to ditch it because he's a huge Superman fan, and couldn't turn it down when he was offered it... However... An interesting name is circling for the directors chair... Joss Whedon. Director of Buffy/Angel and (more importantly) writer of the current, highly acclaimed X-Men comic book series... At least he know the subject matter inside out! I'm sorry to see Singer go, but Joss would be a really good choice I think. :)

There aint no meat on this rumour beyond fanboy hype. Whedon still has a thousand Mea Culpas to say for destroying the Alien franchise. The fact that we have to deal with pathetic tosh like "Aliens vs Predator" is entirely down to him mismanaging the last project.

Love Buffy, Love Joss, but hate his Snow habit...

Agreed! I hate to see Bryan go - he seemed to have the vision that was needed for such a huge undertaking as the x-men series. I admit that I am still not the greatest fan of the first film, but the second more than made up for it...

Only gripe is James Marsden - why? If you are going to have a character, at least have him do more than have him grumbling around the screen for several hours!

He has expressed an interest in interview about doing it, so not total fanboy hype (although, I admit thats a loooonnng way from actually being in the directors chair!) ;)

I just think he'd be an interesting choice. Like I say, he does know X-Men well, so it's not like sticking someone with no passion or experience for the franchise into the chair. I'd have been nervous if we were talking him taking on, say, Batman for example, but I think he'd do a good job on X-Men. Personal opinion. :)

I agree with damndirtyape's point about Spike btw. Would like to see the buffyverse tv movies actually happen (long shot, but I live in hope), and James actually get to do something. ;)

Some interesting stats on Angel season 5 viewing figures

I just read on moviehole that Hollywood North Report is stating that Joss Whedon looks set to write and direct "X-Men 3" in Summer 2005. Although nothing offical has yet been announced apart from the fact that Bryan Singer is not doing X3 and Fox are try to find another director. I think he is the best choice for a director so far!
