I've got to say that the rating does surprise me though, apparently the MPAA gave it an NC-17 originally until SBC edited it down to an R rating, i wonder if we are getting the NC-17 version or the R version.

We went to the test screening a few weeks ago and the sex scenes are VERY explicit. Was half expecting a big chunk of this to be cut to allow for a 15,so am very surprised.

Yeah. The bbfc said in it's last annual report that they got demanRAB to downgrade Sweeney Todd from an 18 to a 12A because Johnny Depp is SO hot. Alas they wrote back saying nope.

Universal have announced the film is going to have to be recut (and the prints have already been made) to remove a scene where Bruno tries to get Michael Jackson's phone number from LaToya Jackson. Don't know if they'll be able to keep to the release date now.
