bruises

i hit my shin and my whole leg and foot has bruised majorly and has swelled up lots. basically on my shin you can see where the object whatever it was hit it, ther eis a huge lump, that is prob about 5 cm in diameter... honestly its massive. The i have a bruise that spans from i would say 3 inches belowe my knee, to my ankle, it then goes round my inner ankle onto my ffoot, wher eit spans half way across my foot and to the very edge. On the other side, it is round my ankle bone ans onto the top of my foot a little. On my calf it looks liek a cuff, but a huge cuff, that spans half way roudn my leg. its really black/ purple, and hrut load sot touch.

i went to the hospital and they said it was just muscle damage, but tis getting worse!
 
Lisa, I don't really know a lot about this, but I do know if you have tissue damage, the blood will run down (gravity) and you can have bruising where there was no injury. If you are uncomfortable about this, you should go back to the doctor and be reevaluated.

It will get worse before it gets better. And it takes time for the bruising to go away. The swelling should be at it's peak by now. And you will see the start of all the lovely different colors you will see. You should have been icing it to help with the swelling. Did the hospital tell you to ice it down and to take anything for the swelling? Such as Aleve? It has an anti inflametory in it so that will help with the pain and in the inflamation...good luck and take it easy and it will go away but it takes time to heal...
