My husband got elbowed in the ribs during a basketball game. (definately accidental)
I think i feel slight swelling, but there is no outward bruising. He has no problems breathing, and it dosen't hurt when he breathes. Mainly, it hurts when he moves.
We don't want to go to the doctor, because that is pretty much useless. I know there isn't much they can do for bruised ribs. Just maybe pain meds, and a note to stay out of work. Neither one he wants.
I was wondering what would be the difference between bruised and cracked ribs? He thinks they are possibly cracked. I think they are bruised.
Any way to tell?
And what is the usual healing time for this. He stands on his feet at work, but he won't be picking up anything heavy.
If they get worse, though, we will go to the doctor.
