i got stitches tuesday on the top of my hand between my thumb and index finger - 2 stitches on the muscle and 4 on the skin...
above the stitches is still numb, on the follow up visit thursday they said that was normal and sensation would return after the stitches were removed (i never encountered this with previous stitches that i had but never cut deep enough in the past to need stitches on a muscle..
thursday the nurse or whoever at the hospital did tell me that my fingers were cold.. but then again i was a little chilly so did not worry much about that, and she did not seem too concerned about that... today when i removed my bandage to clean my wound and change the bandage i noticed that the lower part of my thumb and most of my palm appeared bruised or black and blue (opposite side of hand as my wound) i have not been using this hand for much of anything since i injured it, it was very sore for the first day or two...
should i be concerned with the numbness above the stitches and should i be concerned with the bruising that seems to recently have appeared on my lower portion of my thumb and palm...
i need to be at work from 9am to 730pm tomorrow, so the earliest that i can go back for them to look at this would be monday morning...
