Browser question Nokia N80ie

what is the browser that is being used on the n80ie version? is it opera, how does one check version as can see a new version out on thier site.

also is there any place to auto update it from the phone.

The browser being used is the same as all the s60v3 phones, Nokia's own webkit browser based on the KHTML rendering engine. There is no way to "update" it without a firmware flash, as it's an integral part of the firmware, not a 3rd party app.

What're you trying to update in it?

ok, was not sure, i thought it was opera, as they were showing a new webbrowser onm their site and was wondering if we could update it.

You can use opera on your N80IE if you like. It has nothing to do with the integrated browser.

thanks, makes sense now. seems opera has a lot more features, but ofcourse need to buy.

You should play some more with the integrated browser (web, not services). It's truly awesome. I can never go back to Opera on my N80IE...

They both have their advantages, but I use Opera far more than I use the integrated browser... in particular, I love the 'fit to screen' function that Opera has... the mini-map is very cool, but I like being able to avoid side-scrolling.
