Brown spotting/discharge. Why negative test?

I feel down/confused/frustrated and upset. I know is weird mix of feelings.



I've being having brown spotting/discharge since Monday Sep 21st and today I took a EPT First Response and it was negative. My menstrual is not in town either. What's going on? Did I tested early? When can I test again?

TMI-Last menstrual-Aug. 28th

Ovulated-Sep. 14th-15th

Started spotting Sep. 21st

On the pill but i was taking antibiotics for a week (the week of ovulation)

Yes, i'm sexually active with my husband.

I've being in BC for a while and never had this before. Even when i wasn't in BC
I called my doctor (ob/gyn) yesterday and i explained absolutly everything and she just told me to take a prg. test or make an appoitment for them to take a test.
 
When i get that brown stuff it means my period is coming sometime within the week. If you're on bc during the first week of your cycle it's enough to suppress your ovaries.
