Broken foam head piece to Britax Boulevard car seat, can I fix it or need to replace it?

My husband was putting in my daughter carseat, Britax BV today. As he was inatralling it, he somehow leaned on the foam to the winged head piece and snap the foam in two separate places on the same side. Now the "wing" to that side doesn't stay properly. Should I get a replacement piece or tape the foam together?
 
is there a warranty on it? im a firefighter and my suggestion would be to replace it. even if you have to replace the whole carseat. to me the cost of a carseat is well worth your kids life. no shortcuts should be taken.
