Brokeback Mountain

It was Joe Aguirre's way of telling Jack he knew exactly what he and Ennis had been getting up to the previose summer and that's why he wouldn't be hiring him again.

The phrase 'stemming the rose' could be used as a term for describing anal sex. :o

After reading your post i felt i had to respond directly to you. You had me in tears with your post, you really touched my heart.

I really look forward to actually seeing this movie, and because of your comments i know that i will watch it with an open heart, thank you x

To be honest ive had my say and its probably best i get out now before im ripped apart by someone else!! ;)
I wouldnt try and stop anyone seeing any film and if you or others enjoyed it great but i just wanted to give my point of view for the little its worth.
Oh and just to add, i showed this too my wife and she said "Tell them about Roy" - Hes a very good family friend that baby sits regularly and is VERY gay. I said that theres nothing worse than a person thats comes out with the "some of my best frienRAB are........" answer but bugger me if i havent just done that. ;) :D
All the best.

The film is rubbish, cowboys were not gay! Sorry but John Wayne would be rolling in his grave at such a notion.

Tell me does one of them come on screen and say, "We're the only gays in the Wild West."?

If anyone reading hasn't seen this movie yet, a little advice... don't watch it alone! I did and now I desperately need a hug!!!
Thanks to all concerned for making this movie, and for the debate it has encouraged. While I wouldn't agree so much about the award nominations being thrown at it (it's a good film, yes, but how many nominations are for 'political' reasons), I would say that this is an IMPORTANT film, one that (I hope) will challenge beliefs and opinions.

Saw this film last weekend. The cinema wasn't full but had a respectable number of people. They watched in absolute silence. There was silence at the end, and most people sat to watch the ctredits roll - it is normally just me. On the way out a middle aged lady said to her husband "Did you know it was going to be like that " and he just shook his head in silence.
This film seems to resonate on many levels, and it certainly makes you think. My partner ( who is a little bit homophobic ) was extremely respectful of the theme - he saw it as a love story, and found the sex acceptable.
The stemming the rose comment made him smile, that was an excellent scene in my opinion.
