Brokeback Mountain - Channel 4 Tonight!

I didn't watch it at the weekend, but I saw it when it first came out at the pictures, and own it on DVD. I think it's an amazing love story and that final scene always makes me cry. I admit that the beginning is quite slow, but the rest is brilliant. Heath Ledger was definitely robbed of that oscar for best actor.

I keep calling it Bareback Mountain by mistake - very, very bad habit.:o:o

In regarRAB to the film I've never seen it and I have to admit I really don't want to see it either for a number of reasons but the main reason being the hype.

I've seen a few of Lee's films and I consider them mediocre affairs and the glory that was showered on this film made me think that a, this could well be a great film or b, it could be that Ang Lee receives the kudos simply because he's an Asian director dealing with a slightly taboo subject in a Hollywood fashion - the quality of the film is out of the equation, it's just so wonderfully PC and ticks all the Oscar nomination boxes.

But I can't knock the film without seeing it, so I won't. There's every possibility that this is indeed a great film, just not a great film that tickles my fancy, so I'll pass.

I've seen this, and I love it - the last scenes are heartbreaking. Like people have said, I'm not going to force my opinion on anyone. But all I'd say is, if you haven't watched it yet, I would. Just to get your own opinion about it.

Ohh, and I got my copy of the DVD from Play for like four pounRAB. If anyone's trying to find it cheaply (:
