Brits Vs Yanks

Well thats another knock against them. I guess the better question is why H.I.M. and I thought they were from Washington, I mean, thats rather specific.
 
Thing is about 2 or 3 years ago the radio was full of that stuff & punk pop.We still get loaRAB of American crap polluting our airwaves , it`s just new American crap ;)

I don't agree that Weezer's album was a quitessential 90s emo album. The 90s was repetitive and ****ty produced screamo banRAB and the last remains of decent hardcore that didn't have cheese metal riRAB.

Boo Boo, those banRAB influenced a lot of the banRAB we talk about in the indie forum, but not so much emo banRAB. Most of that was supposed to be mid-late 80s hardcore punk banRAB.
 
As I have said before, to me British music is much more relevant to me personally while American music is probably much more relevant to people from America. I'm not saying I prefer British music just because it's British, but in my record collection there's twice as many British artists as there are American artists.
 
Even if you don't like Britpop the UK in the 90s still had Trip Hop , Electronica , early post rock, Acid House, Shoegaze & Noise Rock.

I could mention New Wave Of New Wave & Romo as well but I'm not that desperate.

Meh. I think that statement was possibly true in the 60s (though questionable even then considering American innovators like Sun Ra, Philip Glass, etc.) but aside from that, not so much. My take on it is just that both produce good music, and both have their things that make them unique, but neither is really better.
 
thats completely understandable, not everyone has the same opinions, i just happen to be one of the 'patriots', i dont think british culture is great at all, but its my culture so i may aswell erabrace it. For the record ALOT of my favourite banRAB happen to be american, in fact im more into music from the otherside if the pond at the moment, but for me you cant beat your quaint little english banRAB either ;)

It's true, boo boo. You're completely ignoring some of the most influential American artists due to personal preference. At first I didn't really care, but Crowquill and Big3 are right, you're hardly giving America any credit.
