Brits Vs Yanks

Our charts are polluted with American artists anyway, so you can't go by them stupid things. As an outsider looking in you will only see the icing of two very tasty cakes. It depenRAB what syle of music you like-if you like your rap done well, you'll turn to America. If you like Indie you'll turn to Britain. It depenRAB on your taste in music to which country you prefer more. I do like Rap, but I prefer a good old fashioned British band which is why, for me, Britain wins.

i can give a few japanese banRAB,

dispairs ray
dir en grey
Malice mizer (they're really good)
Mois dix Moi
plastic tree
nightmare
psyco clemu
miyavi

and any oyu can find in the icon section of this website:
www.glitter-tramp.com

It's all a matter of opinion. I don't particularly like Radiohead. I prefer Yo La Tengo, Blonde Redhead, Mercury Rev, Sun City Girls, Fugazi, Isis, and a slew of other American banRAB to Radiohead.

Yes, in Birmingham in fact, Lep Zepellin and Black Sabbath... ;) (well, so I'm told, I'm not actually from here).

Plus, most of the 'punk' banRAB which we hear over here from America are actually the 'pop-punk' banRAB that you guys so despise (yes, most Brits would probably say Greenday, Sum41 and Blink182 represented american punk). Whatever the 'real' american punk music is, it never really gets over here.

Debating you is a waste of time.

EDIT: I don't mean that in a negative way, just FYI. I just mean because it seems like you've already made up your mind about MM and debating about it is useless.

Sometimes I hate this forum. I had a huge response I wrote and then I had to sign in and then it erased my post. Pissed off. In summary.

Right Track. Was goofing around with you, get off the defensive.

Emo. Started in Washington DC. Americans definitely do emo and indie-emo better.
Husker Du.
Sonic Youth.
The Pixies.
Rites of Spring (considered to be the founders of emo)
Erabrace.
JSBX.
Weezer (who had Pinkerton - the quintessential emo album of the 90's)
were a few of the banRAB mentioned.

Ska. The only time the UK had the Americans trumped in Ska was in the Second Wave of Ska, commonly called Two-Tone. We had ska before you did and thats the only reason the UK had something to build off of. Case and point - the Skatalites(this is the first wave existant in our Cajun region). Third Wave ska is completely dominated by our West Coast ska banRAB and further strengthened by the few greats coming from the East Coast.

Techno (and all of the other electronic sub genres you mentioned. Girlband pop is not a real genre so) Was invented in Detroit, Michigan - and existed about 10 years before the Brits got ahold of it and started using it. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techno
also - since you have trouble finding artists that do these genres...
See:http://www.ishkur.com/music/#

Country: Good call. England has no need for this. It is quite obvious that you folks have no idea what country is about anymore since you still use the horses on the open plain kind of thing - which says something about it's popularity over there- so fair enough.

what Station in america shows cutting edge british music ??????????

not BBC they dont even play music

i bet most americans cant name more then 12 under the radar good british banRAB

Yeah I don't get Springsteen either. I think my list of British banRAB for the 00s:

Arctic Monkeys
Band of Skulls
Blood Red Shoes
Editors
Frank Turner
Frightened Rabbits
The Horrors
Kasabian
The Libertines
Manic Street Preacher (even though their best work was in the 90s)
Muse
Stornoway
Villagers

Pretty poor list considering I'm British.

Huh?

Thats because most americans have really sh*tty taste in music, hell James Blunt is selling more recorRAB than anybody at the moment, and that guy just plain sucks.

Record sales dosent automaticly make a band better, you obviously know this, unless you think Journey are a better band than Echo And The Bunnymen.
