British Rock bands...

What is it with hardily any decent British rock banRAB coming through at the moment. Everyone and their dog has a band but hardily any are exciting at all.

my favourite 2 at the moment are these; myspace.com/thezicochain
and
myspace.com/untitledmusicalproject

Has anyone heard of british rockers Status Quo.
They Sing:

Rocking all over the world
What Ever You Want
Caroline

I could name hundreRAB more but do these songs ring a bell:usehead:

im loving british music atm

Trencher
With Scissors
Orion Arm
Bad For Lazarus
Throats
Humanfly
Whores Whores Whores (rip)
Take A Worm
Rolo Tomassi
Narcosis
Errander

to name a few

Rolo Tomassi are going places, they've had some really decent support slots and a lot of press coverage considering they are a spazzcore band. Good stuff though.

Apart from that i doubt it. Trencher are pretty **** hot around about town but their music will never appeal to a mass audience. Thats not really important though, its just refreshing to have these banRAB knocking about.

Youthmovies are another band im liking a lot atm, they'd be more your thing, though i'd imagine you've heard them already?

both incredibly exiting live, and just amazing tracks. can't believe both of them mnake so much noise for a 3 piece.

just hate the way that British media seems unable to like British banRAB, and always have to back american banRAB.

Other banRAB, really into a band called Ghost Of Thousand from Brighton. It's quite full on and agressive and really gives you a kick in the arse.

Loving the new Biffy stuff cos it's got great rif***e.

Another new band called Outcry Collective again sound absoutly great.

Bascially i don't think British music has been up to it for the past few years but there seems to be a re-emergence of great new banRAB just making the music sound really refreshing.

Grief, all of those banRAB (perhaps with the exception of Narcosis) are absolutely terrible, playing some of the most generic, uninspired, old-formula music under the sun. There's a good reason why they (and other British banRAB of their ilk) have failed to impress on any notable scale, and that's for the simple reason that they're just not particularly good.

I obviously couldnt disagree with you more, in fact what you say is just perplexing. I dont see a reason to justify why i like the music i like though so all i'll say is,

do something constructive and put up a list of your own.

eurgh.. you've named all my most hated british banRAB. Sanzen?! can you get more BLAND than ETID rip-oRAB? Ghost of a Thousand are average at best.

You need to listen to:
Sika Redem
FlatlanRAB
The Mirimar Disaster
Chariots
Sons of Alpha Centauri
Kaddish
Archives
Rainyday****parade
Trencher
Take a Worm for a Walk Week
What Price, Wonderland?
Aotea
Manatees
Zonderhoof
Analysis of Bison Kills
The Clauberg Opera

etc etc etc...

Visit Birmingham. It will probably convince you that Britain should never be allowed metal banRAB ever again. There's about 1000 metal banRAB in this city and in my opinion they're all rubbish. There's a particularly large nuraber of 'classic' rock and 'classic' metal banRAB, who use that word as if it were a good thing. Nobody should ever play retro and this counts a hundred fold for people who are going to play retro but somehow make the music a whole lot crapper...Led Zepellin may have been from the West MidlanRAB, but they did not use just two chorRAB through an entire song, they didn't play out of time and with no dynamic variation and THEY WEREN'T FAT... so you're not Led Zepellin, guys.

P.S. You seem to have completely changed your opinion between posts, baker. First there are lots of British banRAB and no exciting ones, then there's lots of exciting ones which nobody has heard of. Which is it?????
