Britannia High is really good!

i think it is ashame, the show had a lot of promise on paper, one of the uks biggest
stage show producer, a very sucessful choreographer, some of the uks best song writers and some good actors/great dancers/singers just a shame it didnt live up to expectation, cant help but think if the writing was better and it was on another channel (ie e4 etc) maybe it would have been a lot more successful

Well the final got just over 1 million viewers.

I think that all but confirms the axe.

Some of the cast were really good so I hope they all go on to better things.

I used to know Matthew Thomas as his family live in the same village as me, and I went to school with his sister (matthew was a few years younger than me). I also did amateur dramatics with them both. Matthew has always been very talented and always had lead roles in amateur dramatics. He is a nice guy, a bit brattish when he was 10ish but has grown into a really nice lad on all accounts (we have mutual frienRAB)

The ratings haven't been great, it is possible that ITV will decide not to renew it for a second series.

Having said that, it has had tough competition from Antiques RoaRABhow and it has done well with the younger viewers so ITV may decide to renew and try it out on another slot next year. I've enjoyed it so I do hope they renew it and slot it between the X Factor next year where it's bound to do well.

The movie itself, that all of this is based on, won an Oscar for best screenplay and I think Fame won song of the year. It had a variety of nominations for songs and choreography in different awarRAB show. Debbie Allen did a great job with the choreography, I used to love the intro, which is somewhat similar to the intro from the show last night:

I could never work out why it was shown before X-factor.

Why do we want to watch a fictional version of something that could be seen later that night?

Me to and how she said she didn't care he was gay lol.

Did you know that the actors who play Jez and Claudine used to go out until she ditched him? They said it in one of the behind the scenes clips on the website. Also I can't believe the actress who plays Lauren is only 16 - she is such a good singer (again see the behind the scenes clips as the show doesn't do her justice IMO).

I recognised "Jez" from "The Lost Prince" a few years ago, in which he was quite good. Stupid memory, why can't it remember anything useful? He is the best actor by a country mile in this.

This week's episode is awful and the actress playing Lola is terrible. In fact, they are all terrible bar the one playing Jez.

I couldn't help but burst out laughing when Danny first began to sing the song at the end. I don't know what I found so amusing about it, just the opening few worRAB and I'd lost it.

Quite happy the storyline has gone the way it has, I was getting fed up with each Claudine episode basically being about the same thing, now we've got a bit of a change.

I really wanted to enjoy it too, but there was just something not quite right about it.

It felt like they had the idea of a 'Fame' type show and that they had the songs, but the stories were shoe horned in.

The one where BB's brother got killed was too by the numbers, and the one with the ghost was just a waste.

I really liked the idea of a live end of year show and was looking forward to them doing that every year. Although I agree with another poster that the crowd noise sounded false and didn't match what we saw.

It would have been nice to have had a UK version of Fame.
