Brit Awards 2006

nope, m'fraid my info says otherwise, born in brittain, raised in california, but an american living in new york.....well, maybe he feels brittish, he moved when he was 10.....i wonder what kind of accent he has....

the banRAB you've mentioned do not represent this new golden age in british music. its always a particular genre that booms and becomes the new "golden age"..the 60s brought psychedelia, the 70's punk, the 80s im not totally certain, and the 90s britpop. i think this decade will be remerabered for its "nu-indie" boom, banRAB such as the libertines, bloc party, arctic monkeys, the futureheaRAB, franz ferdinand etc. Of course that isnt everybodies cup of tea, and its hardly ground breaking in terms of originality, but its been the "in-thing" for a couple of years now... and emo is more of a stateside phenomenon in terms of the actual banRAB arising. i just cant see anything else surfacing and i think this new indie scene will only develop for a couple more years before peetering away. but hey, i like it so im not complaining.

Well it`s not really the indie scene i`m on about this time.

These are the artists that the media & the industry are saying are the new hope as far as Britiish music goes that will go on to conquer the world blah blah blah.

I think it`s a crock of sh*t myself , half of them will be gone in a couple of years.

The Pop act was actually British Pop act, so I'm afraid Madonna couldn't have won.
Anyway you are right, the Kaiser Chiefs do suck (with the exception of Modern Way) and they were right prats on the night. They stood on stage and acted like your little brother would do if he had just won one of these awarRAB. Dancing around the stage, making silly noises. The lead singer even burped and laughed during an interview backstage. They then had an interview at the Brits backstage party with that bloke from TRL and that woman from CD UK. He then said the woman 'looked more attractive with gunge over her face' and started to push and squeeze his chest together as if he had boobs. Smooth.

I go back on what I have said. I listened to the Radiohead album as I fell to sleep last night and it's not terrible. It's average. And yes I think the Arctic Monkey's album is a classic. Why, do you find it strange that on a music forum people might have different tastes in music?

The Go team are an awful band, and it was a pretty awful show. It was boring and misses the unpredictability of other award shows. Even though the awarRAB were handed out pretty fairly compared to other shows.

it honestly wouldnt surprise me if a cornish sheep farmer wrote a song about how his goldfish enjoy swimming, added a banjo into the mix, put a couple of funny sound effects in and bobs your uncle - a nuraber one single. its always been the way, the truely talented acts rarely get a looking in the British charts as numskull idiots value novelty over talent. has always been the way in Britain.

oh i see. in that case, i agree, tthe artists being hyped in the media (bar the arctic monkeys:finger: ) will all be destroyed by whats made them. though i think the gorillaz generally have the creative pinache to be a long term success.
