Bridget Jones Diary : Edge Of Reason

Watched it last night and it really cheered me up after the cr@p day I had had!

Like others have said seeing the scrapes Bridget gets in makes you cringe but realise you have done the same/similar yourself!

Love the Cleaver character, total slime and selfish but such a charmer!!

Not sure if it is funnier than the first one (as sequels rarely are) but still classic.

I too think a lot of the reviews were harsh and I still stand by the thoughts that Jonathan Ross only slated it because Renee Zellwegger chose Parky over him!!!!!! :D :D

The only thing wrong with it (IMHO) was that it wasn't funny enough. The prison like a virgin scence that it. In the book it was so funny I thought I was going to wet myself and I felt they could have done that bit better in the movie but overall if was good and funny and very much what I expected.

I thought Edge of Reason was good, but wouldn't need to see it again.

Bits I was disappointed about:

1 - they lost the diary theme that was so prevalent in the books and the first film. :(

2 - They glossed over how horrendous the thai prison experience was :(

3 - they banged on far too much about how BJ is fat. In the books she's really only fat in her own mind (like most of us!), but it seemed like every other character had to refer to it at some point. She's only meant to be about 91/2 stone! One the same note, she's meant to be really skinny (too skinny) after time in prison - not much sign of that.

4 - half the story was missing!! I know they have to edit it for the film, but come on!!

I loved the fight scene :D :D :D - it was so pathetic it was hilarious. Much more like the kind of fight two upper class tw@ts would actually have! :D

I absolutely loved it! :D I went to see it with my sis last night, and the whole cinema was in stitches! :D

Have to say I am a fan of Colin as Mark Darcy, he is very sexy in those gorgeous suits he wears, and he loves Bridget *just the way she is*! :D

Cheers, Todd&Karl4ev4 lilmissjc (The Future Mrs. Finch!!) :D :) :D :)

I saw this last night.....loved the first one......but was very disappointed with this.....it felt very forced, stilted and totally unbelieveable and over the top. I only laughed a couple of times and there wasn't much laughter from the rest of the (still packed) house

Very, very, very disappointing :( :( :( :( :( :(

agreed-the set ups for the "jokes"were so obvious it was like being hit over the head with them

Renee had 3 expressions seemingly

the book was completely disregarded-if it wasnt suitable as it was enough then why attempt to film it-they may as well have come up with a whole new story than use ANY of the book.

also the film seemed like an overlong advert for the soundtrack

pointless and dull overall

I possibly didn't see the film in the right atmosphere, but I thought is was awful. I really enjoyed the first one and both books, but this seemed like a not very good rehash of the first film. I liked the Bridget character in the first film, by half way through this one I just wanted to slap her. Renee's constant face pulling to camera was just irritating, most of the time she seemed to talk like a 5 year old, and I simply couldn't believe either Darcey or Clever would be remotely interested in her.

The first one was a nice, sweet, feel good film, this one just seemed like a cynical marketing opportunity with none of the charm and wit of the original. If I remember rightly I laughed twice :(

Renee Zellwegger is a moron...
she said how much she 'loved the way she looked' when she piled on the pounRAB for the film...so naturally she went down to a size 2 again after filming.

yes, curious that isn't it LOL
I did enjoy the first film, haven't seen the second, though I am not averse to the odd mindless comedy!
when is it out on DVD does anyone reckon?
