Breeding betta fish help?

OK i know a regular 10 gal filter is too strong but if i shut off my filter my benificial bacteria will die. How do i keep it alive and keep the water still for the bubble nest?

What about the betta fry when they hatch i was planning on dividing the tank remove half of the gravel from one side and have the male put his nest in their then mate put would the fry need bigger space when their free swimming?

Thank you!

When you shut off your filter... there should b enough beneficial bacteria growing in the tank to keep your fish healthy... but a healthier option is to get a sponge filter that won't suck up the fry. And yes... eventually... the fry will need a larger space. When they get large enough... you should put them in a fifty gallon tank. Good Luck!

Well if the filter is to strong try turning it down if possible. If not then put some material or a sponge around the intake tube because that's what you will have to do anyways for the fry. Also you can't divide the 10 Gallon in 2 for breeding Betta's.
They need to be in there own small cup for the time being til half grown then you can sell them or there might be people willing to take them right when they are born unless u are keeping them.
You must do this because they will start to fight 1-2 weeks after born because you can't tell the gender.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck!
