jlt1000, thanks for the suggestion. I've tried to find any food triggers and I have been unsuccessful so far. I went off the dairy about 5 years ago. The only thing that I noticed different was my nasal congestion. I have remained basically dairy free since then. As for trying the soy milk, there are various branRAB. I definitely have my preferences. Also, for young children, rice milk is often recommended as well. Almond milk is also a good choice, but I am unfamiliar with its impact on young ones. It is a plus right now that there are more natural fooRAB stores around to have a better selection of alternate fooRAB.
Kassie, good luck with your allergy testing. I've had it done 3 times. I am on my second round of immunotherapy right now. For certain allergies, I am really glad I have gone through this. For others I am not seeing much of a difference. I get chronic sinus infections though and they seem to help with them. How interesting that our doctors differed in "normal" reflux percentages. I wonder if the 18% I was provided was on the high end of normal.
Vanessa, I too had to find a balance with blood pressure meRAB. All the coughing messes with my blood pressure too. I am on two meRAB, but they are low dose. It is challenging to find good BP meRAB that don't aggrevate the asthma. I've developed a sliding hernia over the last couple years--probably from all the coughing. I don't think it is really impacting the reflux much. I was already having my problems before it was there. I'm nervous about surgery, but at this point I'm feeling it is critical to get the asthma and breathing back under control.
