Breast feeding outdoors?

I breastfeed and when I do it in public people stare at me like Im crazy or something. I have one of the breastfeeding shall things so its not like my boobs out saying hello to the world but they act like it is. Do other moms get ugly looks when they feed outside the home?
 
i get that all the time and i will always say a snide remark like oh you wanna suck the other one? or ill whip it out proudly and latch her on in front of everyone. its only in the US that everyone feels so weird about bfing and i think its b/c everyone formula feeds here which is horrible and so sad that people cant get over it and do whats best for their child. i say screw them!
 
I never really did or at least i never really paid attention. I was 19 when i had my son. When he was a couple of months old i took my two little brothers who were about 3 and 9 at the time to burger king. i was nursing my son in the booth and the lady came up to me and told me what a wonderful job she thought i was doing. Just ignore people. Sometimes they are not staring at you in a bad way. Don't let people dictate your life or stop you from nursing in public.
