Breakup or Makeup ? Bf drama?

My boyfriend and I been dating for over year, and he was the first to actually show me wat love meant. He took me out n showed me to the whole world and most importantly treated me like a queen. We connected we bonded a perfect match made in heaven but up until the holidays he hasn't been calling me I have been calling him I gave him time but it was too much time and made a mistake n cheated on him I know I messed up plz dnt curse me out I believed he was doing that to me cuz no response for like 3 weeks anyways I listened to the suggestions from friends family n folks on the internet and made up my mind n broke up with him esp. after a fone call today with him since he acted uninterested in me and couldn't answer my question wen I asked him if he still loves me n told me he was gon call back knwing he wasn't,,, now I'm regretting it because this was my first time breaking up with a guy ( I thought was genuine) afta all them jerks I been with,,, so my question is was it stupid for breaking up with him why or why not ,,,,,,and if so how to get him back if he is worth keeping thanks I really appreciate the feedback
