Hopeful Med Student

I have been plugging away with pre-med and have an opportunity to study in Italy for three months next Spring. The only problem is that it would delay a lot of my course work and I'm already a little late in the game. Should I do the study abroad or just take a nice (and shorter) vacation in Italy in order to continue on with my studies?
