Breaking news about Blu-ray Disc market share from CES 2007.

i love how you faggots always bring up an AMAZON sales page

who the fuck cares, I bet theres MILLIONS of people that have no clue Amazon even sells HDDVD or BluRay

edit: and even going by that shit, blu-ray is now almost neck and neck with HD-DVD - it used to be WAY worse in HD-DVD's favor on Amazon

Funny... I could swear there's supply for the PS3's, but they sit their on shelves..... there's something missing from that equation.... what is it.....

Oh yeah, DEMAND.

One article likened the present war to the SACD vs DVD-A wars. They basically killed each other off because it was too confusing for customers when they went to the store. In fact, you had to look real close to ascertain which was which. At least with HD-DVD and Blu-Ray the DVDs are promently marked. But if you want a Sony Pictures movie you could buy it in regular DVD or Blu-Ray. If you want a Universal Pictures movie you'd have to go with a regular DVD or an HD-DVD. Now, let's take "Superman Returns" and let's say that it comes out in regular DVD, an extended 2 DVD set, a Superbit, a Director's Cut regular DVD, an HD-DVD, a Blue-Ray and the limited edition in a tin box. Which do you choose?

Well, that is exactly what you are going to have to decide, which format you want to watch your movies in, Beta or VHS, casettes or 8-track, 33s or 33s that play at 45.

Yes, the example is ludricrous. But consider that there are at least 3 different versions of Star Wars, Episode IV, and every time I look there's a new edition of Star Gate. Me, I've been waiting for the Laser Disc to DVD version of 'Invaders from Mars." The present DVD copy is inferior.

All of you out there with a lot of money will probably end up buying both machines. Everybody else may end up buying a machine that can do both. You guys that already have the XB360 and the PS3 will probably just add the HD-DVD player and be done with it. Lucky bastards.

You see, if you're actually smart, you'd realise when the general consumer is not willing to put down the cash for the price a company is asking, it is directly related to demand. Therefore when no one is willing to pay your asking price, you have no demand and your supply bottlenecks. Trying learning how economics works.

What got me isn't that it was probably a fake, that a grill could be inserted, it was all the space inside, the possibility that it could have been made so that it is square. It's just like the XB360, is there any reason for it too be shaped the way it is? I really do prefer the Apple computer shape of the Wii, the plastic covers look thick and strong. That is not the impression I get with the XB360. But, then, I'm amazed that people would spend good cash for skinning kits for their XBoxes, XBox360s, GCs. PS2s, etc. The PS3 gives the impression that it should be on the top of a table , book case or TV stand, definitely not inside of stand. In the case of the XB360 it is what, 19" wide? If people are used to inserting DVD players inside their stands, then it would stand to reason that if the XB360 is shaped just like it that they would put their XBoxes & XB360s in the same space as a DVD player. Then you could have a problem with heating and air flow. So if you have a 48" wide TV, you might as well put it on a table which is 72" wide. If you have a PS3 and an XB360, you might as well put them on a table top that is 96" wide. That is a lot of real estate.
