What prompted the thread was watching it again (for about the tenth time) last night, having recorded it on Sky Plus.
If you don't trust me (and indeed why should you) check out the reviews on IMDB, not one negative thing said about it (I did only read the first three pages admittedly

An Oscar winning film that's never had the cult status and publicity that it deserves.
