Break-in

So I've read the Break-In Secrets at Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power
and I'm positive this has been discussed a million times. I still would like to ask your opinion and experience on break-in methods, i.e. following the manual or the suggestions at the link above.

Being an engineer myself and having operated very large marine engines for a decade, those guidelines sound risky. I've followed the operating instructions after each overhaul (rebuilt) which was essentially gradual increase in loading the engine.

looking forward to reading your comments. (I'm gonna get a brand new C50 soon)

Cheers from the Wet Coast, B.C., Canada

Do not ride at constant throttle, keep it in the power band (Do not lug engine)
Read the manual!!!!!!!!!!

Rowdy may even give you an award.

Don't over think it. Ride it!!!!!

Thanks Blackie,

I've been reading about this on the Internet way too long and I think that's it. I'll take your advice and Read The Fabulous Manual 8-) (Getting the bike tomorrow)

Cheers

Take the course, use an empty parking lot for practise.
Watch those hills.

KEEP THE RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!!!!!!!

Don't tighten up in the famous death grip. A little slack in the Elbows will reduce wrist strain.

WEAR YOUR GEAR!!!!!!

Ride safe.

The advice here @ M-J is excellent!

The recommendations to me were to certainly not lug the motor.
I was translating my driving habits from a diesel truck to the motorcycle.

Revs in moderation and a lot of short trips daily seem to be the ticket for the bike I just bought.

The Suzu is definetly running better with a bit more TorQ
