I took the TMAX for a test ride and its totally assume!
The acceleration rate is like a sport bike!
all automatic, twist the throttle and it goes!

I ride with people that own Gold Wings and Suzuki Burgman 650's, would the TMAX make a great long distance touring bike that's comfortable with excellent wind and rain protection?
I am so totally excited about buying one, but here's the kicker in the pants: This dealer refuses to take any trade in's, I was counting on trading in my 05 Yamaha FZ6 and getting at least $3500 trade in price and paying cash difference of $3800 for the TMAX!
I can't afford the $7300, but I can afford $3800
I could try to sell my FZ6, but it could be a long time before anybody buys it!
any suggestions?
I am so in love with the Yamaha TMAX

I think it is a mighty fine bike. I could just imagine you ridin' that thing downtown yellin'," Move outta my way Vespa people I'm on a TMAX!". But that does suck they wont take your FZ6 as a trade in but save those tears for another day. I'm sure if you put your bike on craigs list somebody would buy it!

Wow I'm with you.But dealers are real tight on trade ins, At least in Columbus OH.They'll give you nothing for the bike. If you have a University or Collage near by you may want to post for the sell on one of there for sell boards. My friend sales scooters & sport bikes mainly 600cc or smaller there. so you may get the bike sold soon and get that Vmax as soon as you can, you love it.

the dealer refused trade? that is a dealer that may be in financial trouble. theres no reason for a dealer to not take trades unless they are having a problem wholesaling them out. find a dealer that will take trades. they WANT your business. the no trade guy don't act like he wants anybodys business. whats the trade value? how about wholesaling on your own? you may not get the 3500, but it would be quick and easy. -take what you do get and walk into another dealer, buy the tmax and ride into the first dealer and say "you see that? -you could have sold that to me" you are the customer and you call the shots. not them.
