Brakes going bad on Jeep 04 Liberty?

I noticed I have to push down hard on the brakes to stop lately and sometimes, I feel a thumping or strong vibration under my foot. What is that? I've got 30,000 miles on the car. Never had it taken in to be looked at. What does this sound like? New Brakes, pads etc???
 
sounds like you need new brake pads but just to be sure id go get the brakes checked!
 
you need new brake pads...and if you havent changed the brake pads for a while you might have to replace the rotors...when the break pads wear out it goes down to the metal so when you use the brake that metal is grinding on the rotor, with makes the rotor have an uneven groove...
 
You better get your brakes checked ASAP. It sounds like your front brake rotors are warped. That's what causes the vibration you feel when you step on the brakes. This is a common occurance on the Liberty's. The brake rotors may be able to be machined.However depending on how bad the rotors are worn,they may need to be replaced.
