Brakelight Not Flashing

Hey Everyone,
I just purchased a 2005 M50 and noticed that when I apply either brake, the rear brakelight does not illuminate. The taillight works fine, just no increased brightness when the brakes are applied!!!>?? Is this normal? And if not any suggestions as to what is wrong, and how to get it fixed?

Thanks!

Not sure if that has a dual element bulb or not, but i've had that happen on a trailer before and it was the bulb. If the bubl is ok it could be a connection or ground problem, but start with the bulb first.

I'm pretty sure most or all brake/running lights are dual filament. If you don't know what that is just go to your local auto store and ask for an 1157 bulb.

If the 05 is the same as a 07 then you have an LED tail/brake light. They are pretty bullet proof so I would suggest checking fuses first then go on to checking for loose connections if the fuses are good. A test light and cheap meter will make things easier too. Oh, and check both brake light switches too.

It ended up being that the cable from the rear brake was too tight resulting in the brake light to be constantly applied. When the cable was adjusted the brake light dimmed, and now when I apply the brakes the tailight illuminates. :)

I check all lights before a ride. I want the cagers to guess correctly as to what my intentions are. My health and welfare may depend on their guess.

My front connector had come disconnected, for the first few rides of the reason, every time i thought I was flashing my brakes at approaching cars at stoplights, nothing was happening.. Now I check every light at least before the first ride of the day, takes a few seconds and could make the difference between someone seeing me and not.. at least I know the cagers around here are paying attention. And the M50 does have a LED tail light.. it's there's only a about a dozen, and they aren't the brightest in the world, but they are LEDs.
