Brake Pad useful life: 9000 miles

I get around 9-10K on rear pads (trail braking, etc) and almost 20K on the front. It is interesting how varied the results are in this thread, though.

17K and all is well. 9k means some heavy braking. My brake life will probably end quicker with the addition of the trailer; clutch too.

46000 miles on my stock front pads............still have a ton of material left on them.

23000 miles average on my rear pads.

Downshifting is the way to slow down.........saves pads/rotors.

It's all in how you ride. Conditions, traffic, aggressive vs mellow riding style, etc.

Over 36k on my original brakes and have a ways to go. I'm all open roads on long freeway commute, so minimal braking. I brake very evenly front/rear when I do brake.

I had a new rear tire installed today and had the shop check my brakes; they said they are at about 50%, I have 14,500 miles.
