I drive a 1998 Ford Escort and yesterday evening I noticed that when I shut my car off and got out the brake lights were on. I fiddled with the brake peddle and the switch a little, but the only thing that made any difference was to totally unplug the switch, which leaves me with no brake lights. I picked up a new switch this morning, but when I installed it and plugged it in the lights came right on and wouldn't shut off. What could the problem be? I haven't checked the fluid or anything, but I still have good braking so I wouldn't think there's any problem there. Thanks for your help!!
