Hi everyone
I am a 47 year old male with a fairly lengthy history of anxiety, panic attacks, depression, OCD, hypochondria, Tourette Syndrome, was treated with ritalin as a child for ADHD, was an alcoholic/heavy smoker for a nuraber of years before quitting both, tendancy toward addiction with my current "favorite" being low doses of Lorcet to keep me "motivated" and "happy". Anyway, my life has been a mess with a very rough childhood, life out on the streets, tons of various medications and years of various test (all have been negative).
And then, I began taking Ativan and have been on it every day for the last few years and have very rarely had any issues (although they do pop up from time to time). My most recent symptom is a constant and severe brain fog that has persisted for about a week now. Here's how I would describe myself during these episodes...
* Feeling Durab, dull, retarded.
* Spaced out, zoned out, "not there".
* Blank feeling, like my brain is just floating in out space.
Sometimes I wonder if my Tourette Syndrome is responsible for some of these symptoms because I do a lot of violent head-jerking and although they claim Tourette Syndrome is "harmless", I can't help but think that years of head-jerking must leave some kind of a mark...do some sort of damage. Boxers, after years of being hit in the head can get "punch drunk". I wonder of years of head-jerking can cause a similar condition. I also wonder if the Lorect could cause or exassorbate these symptoms (although I've had these episodes long before I began taking it).
Your thoughts?. Anyone else in the same boat/share the same symptoms or experiences as me?. I look forward to your input.
Thanks so much,
