brain aneurysm???

My wife came home from work last night and told me something strange happened to her and freaked her out. She told me she had a sharp pain on the right side of her head above her ear but somewhat deep, then felt a "pop" and a warm sensation immediately afterwards. The pain dulled out and has gradually gotten less and less but still persists. We are both concerned and don't know what to do. thanks

i would very highly advise you/her to go the nearest ER to obtain at the very LEAST at this point, a CT(or MRI WITH a contrast agent which will best highlight all vascular structures within her brain) to just make certain she did not rupture any vessels(stroke)? you CAN have what are called TIAs or mini strokes that you usually do not suffer actual impairments from like you would think of when suffering a more massive one? these are smaller vessels that will eventually lead to the larger more critical ones if not identified for what they are so she can start certain meds and make certain to maintain more consistant types of monitoring too?

this definitely IS one of those better safe than sorry types of situations here. there just can be many different reasons for what she felt that just need some explaining now and not when or if this may occur again later down the road? my mom DID suffer a rather large stroke and had not realized that way before this, she WAS actually having those TIAS starting like a year before that main event took place? she was able to eventually recover from it(it created a black dot in her midrange visual field), but had she known she also was born with a very specific form of blood condition that placed her at much higher risk for blood clots and stroke, she most certainly would have already been on the right meds to better thin what she had/has as thicker than the norm blood consistancy? thats called factor five leiden difiency.

i myself have had an aneurysm develop back in 2005 which the only symptoms i actually ever had before it was dfinally found with special types of brain scans, as it never showed up on my plain old MRI, were heat 'flushes that woulds just start on the very top of my head, then simply 'flush' backwards down the back of my head then dissapated into my c spine area, that was the ONLY symptom, absolutley NO headpain at all. it all depends upon exactly how large the annie is when it starts even producing any real symptoms?

but as a simple precaution, i WOULD get her in for the contrasted MRI or the CT, whatever the ER neuro thinks should be done. but do NOT leave that ER til you have had her brain fully scanned given the "event" she simply felt? things just need an in depth look in there right now before anyone is realistically even going to know what did or did not occur in her brain, or if this was even a 'something' serious type of thing? you just DO need to find out what this was and any possible issues that can always simply 'be" in our bodies that we just do not know about since they have not 'presented themselves in certain ways with symptoms yet? you would be really shocked at what people find out in certain scans for other things that also just happen to 'show up' on that scan too that were NOT being looked for? they call these 'incidental findings" and i HAVE had a few happen to me with one being extremely impactful and found in my spinal cord while only haviong an MRI done to find out just what disc i had herniated in my c spine? very insane let me tell ya. you just do not have a clue just what can even be inside your own body til you just can get that much deeper look inside any given area.

i would just make certain to get her brain scanned as soon as possible(if you have not already done this) to see what could have occured or what just may 'be' in there right now too? hopefully nothing major, but do get this fully evaluated to make certain. please DO keep us posted, FB
